No corrupt word should proceed out of the Christian’s mouth. Today many people confessing to be a Christian are filled with evil towards each other. Of course, they are very polite and kind towards those outside, but inside family they say corrupt words to each other, gossip, etc. I speak about parent-child, husband-wife relationships.

The Word of God calls us not to allow any corrupt word proceed from our mouth. What kind of words does the Lord expect to hear from us? It is written, “…but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers”. We must speak words that bring grace and edification to the hearers and fill them with comfort and faith.

James says, “If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man” (James 3:2). We should control our tongue, so that we may speak perfect and graceful things.

Let us live according to the Word of God. If we have said corrupt words to each other, let us repent and spread the Lord’s blessing all over the world.
